Cindy Lou Who Costume

Cindy Lou Who, a character from the classic book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," written by Dr. Seuss in 1953. Later, a cartoon strip made the story popular again and a film with the same title based on the original story was produced in 1999 that inspired the costumes today we see as the dress for cute and charming Cindy Lou Who. She is a member of the Who family. She is young and innocent. Much inspired by the costumes worn by the character in the film, little girls dream to dress up as little Cindy Lou Who.

Cindy Lou Who has a very distinct look with a towering hairdo with bows, long slender eyelashes, large teeth, and a button nose. The costume reflects the innocence and sweetness together. Though the costume is very popular among kids and their parents, it is not available in the market. But powered with a photograph from the movie and little ingenuity you can perhaps make your own Cindy Lou Who costumes. The costume will not cost you more than $ 15.

The costume you design should suit the kid or the little girl you want to dress up. For a toddler, a pink or red nightgown or footie trousers will look beautiful. Make two red hair bows or ribbons to complete the hairdo.

For a grown up little girl, you can think of elaborating a bit. Make-up is quite essential for carrying this costume. You would need false eyelashes or can simply draw long eyelashes up to the outward corners of the eyes with dark brown or black eyeliner. Choose the color to suit the skin tone. A blush of red on cheeks and red lipstick will go well with the dress. Cindy Lou Who hairdo is really tricky but you cannot compromise on this, because with this typical hairstyle you associate with the character almost instantly. You may need some high-powered hairspray, accessories, clips, extensions or wires to make the braids and curls around the face. A cheaper and hassle-free option will be a wig. You can make some braids around it and can place some light foam or cardboard cone to make the high portions. Red ribbon or bows will look perfect on the hairdo. Make sure to fix the cone properly to avoid undesirable embarrassments.

For the dress you can choose a black and white checkered dress. Some popular Scottish checks will look equally good. A red velvet cape with a hood and faux white fur trim is going to make the Cindy Lou Who costume an appealing one. Red tights and black dress shoes will finish the dressing. Browse the Internet sites and keep on improvising your costumes. Add a scarf or a pom pom along with your own Cindy Lou Who costume now. Go ahead, jazz up the party!
