Whoville Costume

The film "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is the famous depiction of a novel by the same name by Theodore Geisel or popularly known as Dr. Seuss. When the film was made in 1999, it created a whole new surge of interest for the old classics, and the Whoville costumes caught the fancy of the fancy dress lovers. It was a huge responsibility on part of the producers of the film to give an authentic but loveable costume for the villagers and especially the Who family. The costumes were inspired more by the cartoon strip created by Jones and borrowed heavily from Dr. Seuss' original illustrations. It can be said that the Whoville costume and digital production carried the entire film successfully with strong performances by the lead artists.

It is only Jim Carrey who could perform under pounds of green makeup and knotted hair. The incredible costumes make people believe that they are a part of the Whoville. Because of the instant popularity and attention the film drew, Whoville costumes became a craze for special costume parties and even for Halloween or Christmas parties. The dresses worn during the sequences of Christmas or the Jingle Bell costumes have become huge hits. Innumerable varieties are now available like red velvet for the dress of a lady and white fur for the collar and cuffs or any other bright color for the dress to go with the same combination. You can get knee length dresses with different patterns that will blend with the rustic mood. Long-sleeved dress, scarf, and accessories like earrings, chains with beads, and hairdos can make a unique Whoville costume. The best thing about the Whoville costumes is they are still authentic and enjoyable till date.

Watch out for the costumes of Cindy Lou Who, the lovely innocent girls. It is one of the most popular costumes for kids and young girls. A simple red or black and white checkered dress with frilly white shirts, red cape and hood will make you ready with the costume. No need to buy any expensive attire for preparing the costume. The hairdo, however, is a bit tricky. The stiff high look can be a little difficult to manage. Try using plastic cups or small pet bottles to get your hair to have the high with braid or curl around. You may also think of wigs to create the hairstyle.

Watching the film with the perspective of the costumes can always help you. You may notice something interesting on the costume, which you never observed when you first saw the film. All the characters with their trademark Whoville costumes will come up live. You may also search Internet for Whoville costumes offered by many suppliers which you can order online. The costumes are to suit young and old, men and women, kids and adult.
